Hanging Out

Scott and I in 1957. He looks precariously placed but he was the 5th kid so maybe they had relaxed safety measures. I like that  the lawn chairs are all there in the living room. The beginning of our optional seating.

Spirea Time

Me and the spirea, an annual photo op. With the spirea blooming now, I thought it was a good time to look back. 1957

Mom and Dad's Easter Finery

They looked pretty spiffy on Easter in 1957.

The Christmas Rose

My major role, 67 years ago to the day, in the Nieman School first grade Christmas program segment "The Christmas Rose." I played Anna who had nothing to give Baby Jesus. Then an angel appeared and then white roses so I took a rose to him. After that illustrious moment my thespian career languished until 1975 when I was in community theater in Parsons.

Happy Birthday to Scott

Such a cute little guy. He hasn't changed a bit.

Under the Willow

Susan was enlisted to pose with Scott for his 2 month photo. I love seeing the willow tree because it was a large part of my early childhood but disappeared all too soon. Such great hiding, and whips.

Staycation - '50s Style

A trip to Jefferson City in 1957. As Scott and Steve are missing I'm assuming Steve was the photographer and Scott was not yet born (or he's in the box on Mom's lap 😊).

Scott was disturbed by my reference to him and found in our home movies that he is indeed in the box, which turns out to be an infant seat. You can see from this screenshot that Steve was the photographer and Scott is visible on Mom's lap.

Neighborhood Urchins

I love this photo of Cindy and neighbor Ronnie Freyermuth. Cindy is almost 3. I think her new granddaughter Libby looks like her.

The First of All Five

Too bad this photo is like looking through a rain soaked window but here are the 5 of us shortly after Scott was born. We're on a trip to Jeff City - Susan, Steve, Cindy, me, Scott in seat and Mom.

Tickling the Ivories

Steve was playing the piano when Cindy decided she needed to help.
