A New Whatchamacallit

Dad is demonstrating some newfangled thing to Susie and Steve, apparently at night.

Splendidly Attired

We were in our Easter finest in 1960. Of course, Susan, Cindy and I were in matching dresses. I'm sure they were scratchy.

Ready, Set, Aim

Dad loved spraying our Christmas trees with artificial snow after we decorated. Steve and I are watching while Scott is distracted. One year I got a face full because I mistakenly stood on the opposite side of the tree during the application.

The Ghosts Return

Because it just never gets old to see this photo. And the reveal below (although Cindy was already revealed and doesn't appear to have moved). Happy Halloween!🎃

Hanging with the Elephants

Steve seems incredibly close to free range elephants, although one does seem to have a chain. Back in the carefree days when children's safety wasn't given much thought. I'd say 1950 but it was undated. Happy birthday, Steve, tomorrow.

Young Adults

We were quite young adults in October 1982. Not sure of the occasion. Hayden looks very tired.

Back When Things Were Civil

Steve and I and my friend Anita visited the White House during spring break in 1973.

Am I Safe?

You can see me on the left standing in my highchair. Everyone else is looking at Susan (looks like 3 candles on her cake) or more correctly something on the floor. 1954

Happy Birthday to Susan

Susan is tentatively looking at her presents while Steve and Mom look on.

Need a Bigger Pool

Susie, Steve and I and neighbor Nancy Love in the backyard pool, circa August 1954. Not sure why three of us are standing so close together or what Susie is gazing at. Unfortunately the photo was folded on her. I see a total lack of shade and our Little Brown Hut.

As a sidebar, the temperatures that summer were in the 100s with a high of 112 on July 13. It appeared to stay in the 100s through August. So if we think we're hot now ... it's not new.

Family Dinner

A family dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Morgan's house on Madison. Unfortunately I must be taking the picture. They were getting ready to move so nothing on the walls. 1959

Motley Labor Day Crowd

Here we are Labor Day 1972. We don't know what Cindy looks like thanks to Scott.

A Sweet Ride

Mom is getting a ride in Steve's new Porsche in 1975 as Scott looks on.

Just One Chair

Reminds me of how we used to have to watch TV - all on the sofa looking to the side. I don't actually know what was happening here. 1955

In honor of Veterans Day, a rare photo of Steve in uniform.

Dashing Group

We celebrated my great-aunt Helen and Wert's 50th wedding anniversary at Central Congregational Church in Topeka in August 1973. I'm not sure why I have a corsage - maybe I served cake. We all do look nice.

Mother's Day Picnic

A little better weather than this year. Nice hat on Steve.

A Slice of Life

I love these photos where many people are just going about life. Mom seems to be talking to Taylor, who is wiggling away from his mom. Steve and Howard look engrossed in something. And Kathleen and Cal are just hanging out.
