Time to Splash

When it rains on your park time, turn it into some splashing fun. Colin made the most of it.

Walking in the Rain

Faced with a rainy day, we opted for a walk with umbrellas. Adam loved it.

Flooded Out

Miniature land found the rain to be too much. The rest of us were glad to have it.

Checking on the Rain

Vala said she needed to stand on the stool to see if it was still raining up there. It was.

Waiting for a Break in the Rain

Adam patiently waited for the rain to let up so he could ride out. We eventually gave up and donned raincoats.

Killing Time

Vala and Adam were waiting for a break in the rain to play on the driveway.

Walking in the Rain

Adam kept pulling the stroller cover down and then pushing it up and peeking on our walk. He was dry. I was the only one getting wet.

The Girl Loves the Rain

Miss Lowell doesn't let a little rain slow her down, and didn't think it should slow Gammy down either. We had fun.

Waiting for Sun

Didn't find the sun but we didn't let it stop our fun.

Lapping at the Banks

Brush Creek is a few inches from leaving its banks. Enough with the rain. We need a day to dry out.

Storm Aftermath

This fairy garden took a hit from the storm – arbor down, fairies down, doorway down.

Waiting for Recess

Lowell watched the rain while we waited to see if we could go outside. Didn't happen. She was dressed for Tutu Tuesday. You can't have a bad day in a tutu.

Hear Me Roar

A gentle stream became a roaring river with all this rain. At least it was back off the roadway here.

Manna from Heaven

At last – measurable rain! It got nice and dark and then dumped 2 inches on us. It's been so rare I felt it was noteworthy.

Third Times the Charm?

For the third time in a week, our rain gauge is overflowing. Mother Nature is on a terror. At least Wednesday night's storm didn't include wind and power outages. Severe flooding though, including a record high off Indian Creek and 103rd (see below). Where I'm standing to take the photo is usually a trail and the edge of the creek is where the branches are. This is of course after it receded some as I'm not dumb enough to go looking for photos during a flood.

The Water Is Wide

April showers with no end in sight. We should have a lot of May flowers.

Storm Force

The deluge that fell Friday night wreaked havoc, flooding Westport and pushing out of the banks of Brush Creek. This is the unimproved portion of Brush Creek west of the Plaza. Hate to think what would have happened if the improvements downstream hadn't been in place.

The Water Is High

Creeks running high during the supposed intermittent showers yesterday. The marker showed it at 1.5 feet at this spot. The showers were not intermittent. It was a deluge.

Dancing in the Rain

It seems appropriate to have a rain photo. Susan seems to have stepped in a lake, circa 1972.
