Turn Around Don't Drown

The rain early yesterday morning when Cindy and I walked was intense. Flood warnings were warranted. We actually walked under the shopping center awning so I saw this on my way home.

Too Much Water

Hillsdale Lake, like many area waterways, has been hit hard this summer with flooding. You can see the shore line is still underwater. The rocky area you see in the foreground (which I walked out on) was actually more like quicksand and unstable. They are releasing water daily but lake is still 3.5 feet above its normal level.

Third Times the Charm?

For the third time in a week, our rain gauge is overflowing. Mother Nature is on a terror. At least Wednesday night's storm didn't include wind and power outages. Severe flooding though, including a record high off Indian Creek and 103rd (see below). Where I'm standing to take the photo is usually a trail and the edge of the creek is where the branches are. This is of course after it receded some as I'm not dumb enough to go looking for photos during a flood.
