Quilt Blessing to the Community

The Colonial Church Quiltmakers created more than 100 quilts over the past year which we blessed yesterday before they are delivered – to Children’s Mercy, Della Lamb Center, Growing Futures, Head Start KCKS, Hope Lodge, KC4 Refugees, KU Pediatrics, Operation Breakthrough, Project Eagle, Rotaplast International, Safe Home, Sheffield Place and Truman Med Center. Impressive!

SpraySeeMo

This artist is working on his piece for the KC Crossroads mural festival – SpraySeeMo. The idea is to make Kansas City into a mural-laden town that "promotes creative expression and exploration; sort of an art-mecca of midwest design." More than 40 artists, local and national, are participating in the event this week into Sunday.

Another Find

The Ferguson Forty is full of surprises. These ripening pears are a good one. Maybe some pear jelly or pear preserves?

Neighborhood Urchins

Responsible Cleaning

Took numerous electronic items and a bunch of documents for shredding to the Overland Park Recycling Extravaganza. Always feels good to responsibly downsize stuff.

Lunch Companions

These cuties joined me for lunch at the Gathering Sunday picnic at church. I was trying to get them to stand closer while I took a photo but it wasn't going well. Lowell was telling me something.

Celebrating the Chiefs

Waldo Water Tower was displaying support for the Chiefs this weekend in preparation for the season opener today. The castle-like tower is in Tower Park in the Waldo neighborhood.

Adam went to his first Royals game and saw a win! Great first game. He was entertained almost the whole time.
