Rock Hunt

We have a fun game going in our neighborhood. A couple of families have painted rocks and hidden them in plain sight for us to find on walks. The baseball one below had particularly creative placement.

Celebrating the Creators

I find Maker Faire Kansas City a unique showcase of practical and crazy things people create themselves — from electronic gizmos to urban farming to sculptures. It demonstrates what and how people are inventing, making and creating for a faire full of fun and inspiration. You can see a human elephant, geeks playing with a LiteBrite, kids learning to steer robots and so much more. It is delightful!

The guys below are creating props from floor pads. Just a couple of kids with a lot of ingenuity. He's holding an arm like you might find in a Marvel movie.

Mount Up

Who wouldn't have loved to watch Mom, Vala and me get on this elephant. Yes, it's a live elephant. Grandma was 88 years old! It was a Friends of the Zoo event.
