This interesting lamp is a piece by Mick Whitcomb, a Springfield, MO designer who specializes in one-of-a-kind lighting made from architectural and industrial salvage. He was part of the Prairie Village Art Fair. His art also included repurposed (or re-imagined as he calls it) cameras, fans, radios and much more.
This typewriter was part of the Parsons Museum display of artifacts at Katy Days yesterday. While I don't recall ever seeing a typewriter in this atrocious color, it doesn't seem all that old to me. They had a couple of people explaining how they worked. Startling to think that something I used for many years now has to be explained to younger people.
