Heron Hunt

We saw this guy standing in the murk of the very dry streamway at Craig Crossing in Lenexa. He was hunting and eventually caught something. This is usually flowing water.

Groundhog Day

I know the photo is poor quality but this is two groundhogs along the Turkey Creek Streamway Trail in Merriam. Stacy and I walked seven miles along it yesterday and saw at least 15 groundhogs from small to quite large. But you can't get close to them so this is zoomed with my phone. Most were on the opposite side of the creek.
