A Pass from Mahomes

I was entertained at the traffic light by Mahomes on the rear window wiper. Apparently the driver could tell I was taking a picture because he started the wiper so I could see the throw in action.

On a cold and rainy night in 2013, we had the privilege of watching them inflate the Macy's parade balloons. In light of the limited parade expected today, I'm so glad we got the full experience of Thanksgiving in New York.

Dad took us to meet the animals at the American Royal. It appears we are going to feed this fellow, although Hayden has reservations about that idea.
 

Leaves Be Gone

We had mounds of leaves for our neighborhood leaf pickup. Glad they came through before the winds expected today. Lowell was demonstrating how high our leaf mountain was.

Toddler Rock Climbing

 Lowell mastered climbing this wall at the playground on the second try. She's fearless. You get to go down the slide once you reach the top.

Buried in Leaves

Adam enjoyed all the leaves that have dropped at our house, especially the giant sycamore ones.
 

Dad and His Books

His grandchildren – Hayden, Alex and Stacy – helped Dad unwrap the books he requested each Christmas. All non-fiction, of course.

 

Kindness Rocks Inspiration Garden

Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center has created this rock garden outside its entrance. You're invited to take one or two if you feel inspired to do so, and help water the garden by adding rocks of your own. Some are professional, some amateurish, all delightful.

A Long Time Coming

February 29 I pollinated the buds on my lemon tree. I've had 2 lemons growing all summer and – finally – I have ripe lemons! Doesn't seem to be an efficient way to acquire lemons but I'm grateful that they made it to ripeness.
 

Halloween Delight

Lowell and Adam provided our Halloween parade before going on a pumpkin hunt. Adam was delightful as Yoda. Vala was a bear and we already know Lowell was a unicorn.
