Mesoamerica Insights

Art historian and microarcheologist Dr. Diana Magaloni's presentation at the Kauffman Center was fascinating, talking about the creation of the Olmec heads of Mexico and the meaning behind the Teotihuacan pyramids. They actually served as a calendar.

Feeding the Community

Adam and I went to the grocery to buy food to put in the wagon at church that collects items for food pantries. He picked apples, oranges, pasta, pancake mix and Cheerios. Kids would like that according to him. He also wanted bananas but their shelf life is too short for our purpose.

Waiting for the President

On June 29, 1983, we waited on 67th St in the rain for President Reagan to drive by on his way to Shawnee Mission Northwest. Seems he was speaking to participants in the National Conference of the National Association of Student Councils. Hayden seems more interested in her snack. As I recall, we couldn't actually see him in the car. Little more low key than these days.
