Mostly great weather welcomed the Big 12 tournament but Saturday was a bit gray. Congratulations to the Jayhawks for winning the title.

At South Mountain Park you can see the city of Phoenix off in the distance. Impressive view.

Presenting the Trophy

Before the game at Surprise Stadium, the World Series trophy (on the black covered table) and plaques for the Golden Glove winners were presented by Sly James to the City of Surprise. Then you could see - but not touch - the trophy up close and personal and have your photo taken with it.

Watched the Royals beat the Angels in Tempe Diablo Stadium, home of Angels' spring training. Alex Gordon is batting. A sea of red after the sea of blue at Surprise.

Great fun to watch the Royals practicing. Draws quite a crowd. The familiar names and lots of unknowns trying to make the team.

I'm surprised we haven't seen crocuses sooner as warm as it's been.

Salvy Splash

I heard the billboard was coming down Sunday so wanted to see it. Nobody around so I attempted to take a selfie as so many have. I may be the champion inept selfie artist, although I did at least get in the path of the cooler. It is a cool billboard and fun to see Salvy with his signature cooler of icy drink looming so large.

With Gov. Joan Finney in 1993. Remember how we thought she was an unfortunate governor? We didn't know what we were in for.

Is It Broken?

One of the Dads who is a doctor visited the preschool. He wrapped the little girl's arm to demonstrate a cast. They were fascinated by the cast and by the stethoscope.

Unemployed

These snow shovels couldn't find work this winter, so they've lowered their expectations.
