Help the Rock Snake

Creative folks are everywhere. Here you can help Roeland the Rock Snake grow. Stacy said it has grown quite a bit since she first saw it.

 

Food Is Ready

Stacy and I helped serve the meal for the homeless in Mill Creek Park. We plated 128 meals. It was quite warm and we were staring straight into the sun but we were happy to help. The plastic gloves made our hands quite sweaty before we were done.
 

Fall Festivities

Fun in the corn pit at Family Tree, plus planting some plants (with a little digging in the dirt) and trying out a trumpet. She was teaching Adam to use his lips like he was spitting and he did get sound out of it.

Wild About Cheer

Vala and Lowell participated in the cheer clinic and then performed at halftime of the Eudora High School football game.

Foggy Start

Howard played in a golf tournament yesterday that had quite a foggy start. For the first four holes, they couldn't tell where the team ahead of them was.

These folks created a unique Little Library but it has no books and looks abandoned.

We got Lowell and Vala Chiefs shirts with a Taylor Swift image and sporting an engagement ring.

Patching a few spots in the ceiling and walls and then painting. A bit of disruption.
 

Lion King NYC

We saw Lion King in New York for Hayden's 30th birthday. Stacy's friend Morgan accompanied us. Colin and I were watching Lion King and I was telling him that I had seen it with his mother but I don't think he grasped the concept.
 

Catching the Last Drops

With the heat, Colin and I got one more shot at a splashpad before they are all turned off for the season.

Soccer Season Begins

Lowell had a hot first game in her second grade era. They didn't win but they did score.
 

Bunco Night

I had my first encounter with bunco. It was for all ages so we had the grandkids too. It really was fun and they did well. Adam hit the bell to start the round.

A New Flag

We were attempting to change my garden flag to the new Chiefs flag. Eventually mission accomplished.

 

School in the Country

Eudora had early dismissal so we went out to meet the girls as they got off the bus. So interesting to see them getting off at their driveway with cornfields in the background. Then water play on a hot afternoon.

A Day of Celebration

We celebrated Michael's first official day as our minister by blessing quilts that will be given to charities and with lunch.

"It Echoes"

Colin and I have been waiting to check out the revamped tunnel under Shawnee Mission Parkway. His two take aways were it echoed and you can't see any pipes. He liked seeing where he came from at the other side.

Hayden mad a realistic hippie for one Halloween. Happy birthday to an aging hippie. 😉 The witch is Morgan.

Colin enjoyed a reading of "Don't Trust Fish" at Rainy Day Books storytime. He especially liked the fish in the toilet, which you can faintly see in the background.
 

Can You See Bruno?

Cats are enjoying their new toy. Bruno gets inside - see his eyes - and Izzy tries to bat him when he reaches out. 
 

Merriam Art Project Underway

The parking garage at the Merriam Community Center is being transformed. The first element - the steps - is in place. More to come.
