| This lighthouse in Door County is a bit isolated. It sets on an island that is accessible through a waterway, which sometimes you can walk/wade across but other times the water runs too high. The guide said the last couple of years you have to ride on the tractor wagon (below). The photo at the bottom shows how it is situated. Built in 1869, it continues in operation today although without an operator. |
