Rushton Open House

Adam gave us a tour of his brand new school, including his classroom. It was pirate day, hence his attire. We also got a glimpse of a future Rushton student.

We're getting dressed for Cindy's wedding but not sure why we're lined up like this. Happy anniversary to Cindy next week.

I thought we'd had our last water activity but with the temperature yesterday we opted for a splash pad, one of the few options still open.

Lowell, Libby and Vala wore their Chiefs colors to spur on their team. Cute dresses times three is a winning style.
 

Lancer Day Parade

The 2024 Lancer Day parade led off with the band. The theme of the parade was jobs hence their apparel. Not sure which group the float below represented. It was often hard to tell. Most were teams.

And Colonial provided hospitality since the parade practically goes through our front lawn.

 

In My Cheerleader Era

Lowell enjoyed cheering at the Eudora football game after completing a week of cheer camp.

Library story time has resumed after a summer hiatus and Colin was front and center.

These folks planted two kinds of sunflowers in a pot - the traditional design and then what I call a fluffy one.
 

Gnome Sweet Gnome

For Hayden's birthday, we gave her this cute guy who has a different hat for every holiday. Who doesn't love that? In the past she has given me a goose and then a cat with similar attire but they have not survived. I think this guy will.
 

Down the Rabbit Hole

We stopped for donuts at Donutology to celebrate Hayden's birthday before visiting the now famous Rabbit hOle in North Kansas City. It's amazing. Lowell visited Frances from the books by Russell Hoban.

Then Vala counted the Caps for Sale (by Esphyr Slobodkina) and

they took a nap in the bed from Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown.

Ready for Some Football

I have my new Chiefs flag thanks to the volunteers at Prairie Village Shops selling these as a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House. I'm ready for the season.
