| This manger scene is part of the large nativity arrayed around a 22-foot Christmas tree in Kirkwood Hall at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. The Italian crèche figures, or presepio, were elaborately carved in Naples during the 17th and 18th centuries and surround the base of the tree. |
