To Raise a Bridge

You can see the bright orange weights that were used to raise the center of the old ASB (Armour-Swift-Burlington) Bridge to allow ship traffic on the Missouri River. The bridge, built in 1911, has been replaced but it was a marvel of engineering in its day. Viewed from the Riverfront Heritage Trail at sunset.
