Antietam Circle

The gazebo is part of Antietam Circle 1 in Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. It was built in 1905 to provide a resting place for veterans, especially of the Civil War, by Antietam Post of the Grand Army of the Republic to enhance the section they had purchased in 1886. The cannons were donated by the war department. (I had to write an article about it when I was working for the Parsons Sun.)
