Blanketing the Community

The Colonial Church Quiltmakers showed off some of their creations. In 2017 the Quiltmakers created 120 quilts for children’s hospitals, shelters, community and international outreach organizations, and Colonial baptisms.

70 Years of Ministry

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the ordination of Rev. Dr. Art Foster. He was ordained in Toronto in 1948. He has served as interim minister at Colonial and also been a member in his retirement. He will be 96 years old in December and is still very active in many facets of the church and the community. Amazing!

This Is Not a Refuge

Another Open Spaces KC piece. This one, by Pakistan-born, Indianapolis-based artist Anila Quayyum Agha, is on the grounds of the Kansas City Art Institute. It is supposed to be soothing and challenging at the same time and reflecting on the global plight of war refugees. Not sure I see that but it's lovely.
