StoneLion Puppet Theatre presented a glowing puppet show at the Liberty Memorial. It was hard to photograph and a bit hard to follow but the performance drew a large crowd. The weather was perfect for it.

Echoes of The Great War
Colin and I observed Veterans Day by visiting the World War I Museum. He was fascinated. We visited The Little War exhibit that recognized the role of children, and included games they would have played.Outside he got to sit in a Vietnam War era helicopter and then we went up in the tower, where he could see nothing but sky, as he said. I did lift him up to see over the wall briefly.

The Northern Lights!
So excited to see this. This photo is from Hayden, where she had a lot less light interference. Our view is below. Not quite so good but happy to finally see them.

Pushing A Piano
Adam and Colin were attempting to push the piano back to the choir room. Then someone came to the rescue. (Full disclosure, Joey was the one pushing it all along and they were hitching a ride.)

New Hymnals
Colonial purchased new hymnals and folks were given the opportunity to sponsor one as a dedication to someone. Stacy is holding one dedicated to her.

I feared we wouldn't have much fall color because of drought and heat but this week vibrant hues are showing.

Day of the Dead
We visited the Day of the Dead altar at the Nelson-Atkins. They wrote names of loved ones on flowers and left them at the altar, which was made of butterflies this year.

Answering the Call
With the government shutdown and the suspension of SNAP benefits a call for more donations to the food banks was answered by Colonial. We usually have a few things in the red wagon each week but yesterday it overflowed.

Stop the Drama
Prairie Village is waging a war against itself and the signage is becoming strident. But "there's nothing wrong with Prairie Village." I guess we will find out if there is on Nov. 4.
