They have been renovating the towers on the Plaza. This the Plaza Time Building.

The Doughboy has been peaking out of the top floor of this house overlooking the Plaza for a long time. Now the house is for sale for a mere $2.9 million. Maybe it includes the Doughboy.

Another successful Celebration at the Station. They shortened the program because a storm was threatening but it was still great fun.

Dripping City Market

We went to the City Market in the River Market so Hayden could get some bedding plants. Very damp but pretty.

Happy 126th Birthday to Gussie

Deep Waters

Beautiful still waters of the  Whispering Dell Sinkhole - 150 feet deep.

Among the Ruins

The ruins of  a mansion in what is now Ha Ha Tonka State Park. Kansas City businessman Robert Snyder bought the land in 1905 but died in one of Missouri's first car accidents in 1906 just as construction was about to start. About 20 years later his sons finished it but then in 1946 it was destroyed by fire. It became part of the Missouri park system in 1978.

Circle of Lights

Stacy and I volunteered last night at the Kansas City Hospice Circle of Lights at the J.C. Nichols fountain. We helped light many luminaries, all with memorial names on them. They also had a brief service to go with it. It was very nice and very pretty.

Float

Float, a group of hammocks, has been installed at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. The series of eight hammocks was commissioned by the Kemper Museum to invite the audience to take leisure time and relax on and amongst contemporary art. It's not as relaxing as one might think, at least the getting in. I did finally make it, sort of.

Holly's Graduation

Holly celebrated her KU graduation with siblings and cousins - Morgan, Erin, Hayden, Drew and Frances.

Blue and White

I love this color combination.

Raised Bed Gardening

I liked their use of raised beds for flowers with vegetables in the middle of them. One of the Master Gardeners tour gardens.

Dragon Tongue

The detail is always so interesting on sculptures. This guy has his tongue hanging out. Have you seen him?

Topping Off

Putting the parts of the last finial together prior to lifting to the tower at Country Club Christian Church. The assembled piece weighs 3,500 pounds. Now the tower is completely restored. Still a few other pieces but the restoration of the stone work at the church is nearly done.

Little Library Mansion

The Little Free Library system continues to expand.

So Many Ducklings

Unfortunately they were on the far side of the creek and blended in perfectly so it was difficult to get a picture. But this mama duck had 12 ducklings she was shepherding along. Stacy took the video below but it's equally hard to see them. They are swimming along the far bank.

A Roof of Many Colors

Love the colorful tiles on this roof.

I Did It!!!

Ran the entire route of the Independence Parks and Rec 5K! I suggested we take the photo before we were all hot and sweaty, which we most certainly were at the end. Major accomplishment for me.

White Rabbit

Notice the drummer sporting his rabbit ears. The group, outside Seasons 52 on the Plaza, was playing "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane and he felt the costume enhanced the performance.

Where Are the Musicians?

Waiting backstage at the Kauffman Center symphony hall. They wouldn't allow photography during the performance so this was the best I could do. Cindy and I were at a Happy Hour concert by the Kansas City Symphony and UMKC students, mostly woodwinds.
