The Show Must Go On

Despite a rainy first half of the Overland Park Fall Festival, this puppet show drew a crowd. At least the weather, and the crowds, improved by the end of the afternoon.

It was a bit hard to walk down this sidewalk. Hopefully the tree folk were coming back to remove this debris.

Beginning to End

As you can see, this pot flourished, although one addition was required. Quite an improvement over the beginning of the season.

From a Discarded Pumpkin

This giant vine is headed down the ally behind Susan's house in Lawrence. It starts in her backyard where she believes a pumpkin was left last fall. It has lots of small pumpkins on it. I wouldn't get this kind of a vine if I planted the seeds.

Royals Win!

I had the fun of seeing the Royals win their last regular season home game with a walk-off Grand Slam by Justin Maxwell. It was worth waiting 10 innings.

While I'm working at the computer, I often have Sydney sitting on the scanner behind the monitor. It's a problem when I need to scan but she is moveable.

For some reason, we all were jammed on the stairway at Gussie's house in December 1972. Gotta' love Scott's hat. In front is our cousin Debbie Winter from California next to Kerry. The head band dude by me is our cousin Bruce, also from California.

Battle of the Icons

These folks have seen enough of the stick figure families (see below) on so many cars so they used the equally prevalent big sad eyed cat. There is apparently a whole movement of anti-stick figure family folks.

Award Winner

My niece, Grace, receiving her award for placing third in a Division I NCAA cross country meet as a freshman at KU. She is third from the right. Pretty darned impressive. You go, Grace.
