Available at the Brookside farmers market were these shoulder bags made out of t-shirts and denim. The lady has one over her shoulder. She said they were good for shopping, diaper bags and beach bags.

This grumpy guy adorns Strawn Park, a tiny neighborhood park in Kansas City. I think he could scare the children playing on the playground.

Wall Tree

This is basically a two-dimensional tree that has been trained to the side of this house. I don't know how you do that, but it looks kind of cool and doesn't take up a lot of space.

The Helzberg Organ

Concert featuring the new Casavant pipe organ in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. As you can see, the organist was a long ways from the audience but the sound and the view of the organ was fantastic.

Crocheted Recycling

A friend of mine makes these bags out of plastic bags. It's called plarn (yarn made from recycled retail plastic bags). The red and white one is made from Target bags.

Zombie Face Painting

Do you have a buffalo and a holstein? My friend Marilyn does because she is from North Dakota, home of the buffalo, and her town of New Salem has a holstein sculpture high on a hill there. The sculpture is to promote area holstein herds.

Celebrating 50

Toured my high school during the 50-year celebration. Much of it hasn't changed a bit in 40+ years, except there were a lot of old people walking around who claimed to have gone there. Really? I guess I'm one of them.

A Little Help

Not sure why you wouldn't have cut this branch off when it headed off on such an angle, but it's good that someone helped prop it up. Sort of like having a horizontal tree. It's the second time I've come across such an arrangement.

Life-Size Palm Cross

They hang two of these at the front of the sanctuary at work for Palm Sunday and then add the lilies for Easter.

How to Cook an Egg

Apparently you can "cook" an egg by cracking it into a bowl of vinegar. While it did appear to be cooked the next day, none of us were brave enough to taste it. Apparently useful in the wild, but not if you're very hungry as it's a long wait. This is the beginning stage.

We always loved this photo from 1996, both the hats and everyone's expressions. There is a similar photo where everyone is smiling but not in this one.

If you are a young child, how scary would this be? You can see the little boy has reservations about going near this Easter bunny. They told the mom she would probably have to be in the photo too to get him near the bunny.
