Thomas Swope's memorial high on the cliff in Swope Park. He is buried at the top of the steps. Although he died in 1909, the memorial wasn't ready until 1918. In 1922, the fountain below was added. If you look carefully, in the center at the tree line you can see the roof of Starlight Theatre.

The official start of KU football in Kansas City. A giant pep rally in Prairie Village with Coaches Mangino, Self and Hendrickson and the new chancellor, along with thousands of enthusiastic fans. Great fun.
This little boy was racing around on his bike until he took the corner to sharp and ended up in the mud puddle. He just sat there until Howard rescued him and pulled the bike out.
For those who wonder what you can see from the big stone tower, not much. Too many safety screens and rails, which is a good thing. But it's scary getting up there.
So when I was learning to play the piano, I thought there were too many keys. Guess that's why I never moved on to the organ. Seriously, four keyboards! How are you ever on the right keys. And don't forget the stops.
At the Weston 10 Mile Trail Antique and Garden Show, Howard was exhibiting his furniture in an interesting cove of vendors. The truck and fountain was, I'm guessing, a permanent display. The fairy garden below was part of one of the booths.
