With regards to the dubious nature of Stacy's countenance, I think it has less to do with the actual story and more to do with the fact that her reader is apparently drinking a beer. She also appears to have an issue with the lack of a shoe, which from the dirt on her sock would seem to have been missing for some time.

All of that is likely true. I did wonder how you ended up in this situation in the first place.
