Plane in a Box

Well, part of one. This is in the backyard of a large home on Ward Parkway. Like to know the story.

Waiting to be dressed as KU, K-State, Chiefs, Royals, etc. mascots.

Ginormous Bubble

Floating freely at the Overland Park Festival.

Friends

Too bad they didn't have more room. Maybe they could have laid their heads down.

Evening Fire

I couldn't resist this gorgeous sunset.

Eeyore's House

Much more elaborate than anything Eeyore built but I was always amused that Piglet or Pooh would take his house, thinking it was just a pile of wood. This is part of an exhibit on the KU campus, a natural Stickwork installation that is expected to last about two years.

Unknown Species

This creature was lurking in the garden where Howard was delivering some furniture. I thought maybe it was a Raptor, frozen in time. Or perhaps it is an ordinary ostrich. I had a lot of time to stare at it and wonder.

Fun with exposure during the Water Fire event on Brush Creek.

I was amused by the description.

Stacy got a tiara after we donated some gowns to the prom recycling project by Cross-Lines in Prairie Village.

Bare Spot

We found it interesting that the right fielder wore a bit of a bare spot in the turf. That was not obvious in left or center field. What is the reasoning for this? The right fielders generally are slugs and just stand in one spot?

Viva Los Royals

Great night watching the Royals soundly defeat the A's. Too bad the t-shirts they gave away weren't as colorful as the sign. They were beige! So much potential for design wasted.

Wind Wagon

Interesting sculpture. It's inspired by a wind Conestoga but is actually a wind tractor. Made of stainless steel and it can be yours for just $4,400.

Scarlet Runner Beans

These make a great display along a fence this time of year.

Men and Their Toys

No matter the age of the man or the car. They were admiring the vintage vehicles at the Lenexa Spinach Festival.

Illumination

The thunderheads were beautifully highlighted awhile before they turned serious. Taking tickets at Starlight for Rain (aptly named): A Tribute to the Beatles was touch and go but they did get the show started. For the second time, rain followed me out there.

Beauty Salon

American Girl dolls (with their mothers watching) getting the treatment at the new store at Oak Park.

What Is This?

What is it and why?

Ginkgos

I love the leaves on these trees. You don't see a lot of the trees but Overland Park has planted several in parks and parkways.

In Celebration of All Things Irish

The fountains at Crown Center took on the tint of the Irish for the Kansas City Irish Fest surrounding them.

Bucket Heads

A room full of toys and they empty the bins and wear them.

Cotton Candy

This hibiscus bloom reminded me of cotton candy.

Warning

I don't know whose parking spot this is, but apparently people have attempted to usurp it.

Elaborate Village

A train village built into Omaha's arboretum was one of the more interesting parts of the gardens.
