Have you ever thought about the toes of a figure in a stained glass window? I think not. Perhaps I could have put my time to better use while in my meeting but looking at the stained glass was so interesting.

Wedding Singers
Hayden (left) was part of a quartet for a wedding Saturday at the J.C. Nichols fountain on the Plaza. Note the minister. It's Emmanuel Cleaver.

Rebirth of a Fountain
Water flows again in a fountain in Prairie Village that was built in the 1940s and allowed to decline. With donations from the neighborhood residents, it was repaired and turned back on.

This Goes Together How?
These two members of the Overland Park Historical Society are attempting to set up a tent for the festival. You can see other tents already up. This tent had no directions and a gazillion poles. I don't know if they got it up before the monsoon hit but it didn't look promising. They spent a lot of time just looking at the poles.

The Wall Is Gone
The recent rains have left this reflecting pool so full the stone wall has disappeared. You can see it in the foreground but it is actually under water. You can see the wall in this March 23 post.

East Hill Singers
The East Hill Singers, a chorus comprised of inmates from Lansing Correctional Facility and volunteer singers from the community, performed their spring concert. Hayden and other members of the Colonial Church choir participated. It was fantastic. The inmates are the men in the light blue shirts. The community men were instructed not to wear blue so the difference was easily discernible.

Absorption
This group was totally absorbed in the art at the Nelson-Atkins Gallery. Despite much traffic around and in front of them, they sat and looked at this piece.

Willow Pot
A friend of mine, Elizabeth Nuelle, created this pot for the Designers Showcase house last month. The curved willow branches were not leafed out and were supposed to remain as interesting bare branches but all the rain caused the branches to root and sprout! She is the gardener for the owner of the house through her company, Every Bloomin' Thing.

Flowing Glass
Tom Bloyd makes beautiful glass but this fountain particularly struck me at the Prairie Village Art Fair. You can watch them create at the next First Friday (July 2). Bloyd Art Glass

Pinwheel Mania
Many more of these dotted the lawn but they were spaced out sufficiently that I couldn't really get the full effect - that and I thought the homeowner might come out and ask me why I was taking photos of the house. But really, if you are going to participate in this silliness, people are going to stare (and photograph).
