Candle Blowers

Mom had a lot of help blowing out her birthday candles, 1991. I especially love Hayden with her visor and tape deck.

Surprise Among the Fish

I came around the side of the aquarium at Scheel's and was startled to find a diver looking at me. She was inside cleaning. As you can see below, it's not large enough to expect a person inside.

Harbinger

This tree across the street decided to give a preview of fall color. The late afternoon sun drew out the color nicely.

Festival Fun

Vala was right up there with Mr. Stinky Feet during the Overland Park Fall Festival. She and Lowell also exhibited their artistic side in chalk.

It's In the Loft

The crew was working to move the new organ console to the choir loft. It took three lifts to get it there – one broke, one wasn't tall enough. Now the technician and Joseph will work on connecting it to the pipes. Joseph will be using it for its public debut at a funeral October 1. Ironically, it's the funeral of the man who donated the money for the new organ.

Hay Games

Adam enjoyed the maze made of straw. It kind of freaked me out, like the old house of mirrors at the carnival. I couldn't find him half the time.

Sometimes you can still find hidden pathways even in suburbia.

Star Walk

It looked like I could follow the stars. I don't know if they landed this way or someone placed them.

The Tradition Continues

The Lancer Day parade again moved down Mission Road to the Prairie Village Shops. Hayden said she was glad she didn't have to wear the tall hat when she was drum major.

Hedgehugs

Adam is examining an albino hedgehog at the Prairie Oak Nature Center. We participated in Animal Story Time, which was all about hedgehogs. Snuffy was a very shy hedgehog.

The Great Barrier Reef

Howard and Stacy on the ferry from Cairns, Australia to Green Island and access to the Great Barrier Reef. Below you can see the coral and fish from snorkeling. Amazing experience.
The one thing they said was don't scrape yourself on the coral and of course I blundered into it. Took a month to heal. September 2007

Pup Cup, Please

This young pup was looking in the Starbucks window. His owner was inside and I'm sure he was hoping for one of the little cups of whip cream that they give away for dogs.

Always Building

Adam loves to create and always has a story about it. In this case he was making a ramp to light the fire.

A Look of Skepticism

I'm not sure what Kelly may have said but Hayden seems to doubt it. Cal thinks it was funny. Happy birthday, Hayden! 1997

Where's the Organ?

Joseph is standing next to the spot where the Colonial organ console used to be. You can see on the right that the pipes are still there. We are getting a digital upgrade to the organ which means a new console as well as enhanced capabilities. Joseph and Howard were removing some of the framework because the console will not be returning to its former location.

My Very Own Octupus

We went to storytime at the Ceramic Cafe. After listening to "My Very Own Octopus," Lowell got to paint her octopus. We have to wait 10 days for it to be fired and ready for her to take home.
