The baby shower for Frances was in Morgan's backyard with masks and social distancing, although most of us were vaccinated. The weather was cooperative so it was quite nice.
 

Old Man of the Garden

He survived another winter. Lived on Flint for years before moving to my garden. My father's pride and joy.

Colorful Makeover

A plan to touch up paint on the asphalt playground at Tomahawk Elementary School in Olathe became a major renovation last summer with colorful games that require minimal touching. The school bus update included work by a 5th grader to make it a Chiefs bus. Offie Morris, a paraeducator and parent, and kindergarten teacher Christi Gottschalk worked together on their vision.

 

The Bunnies Are Back!

Adam met the Plaza bunnies. He actually met them when he was a few weeks old but last year they didn't make an appearance so this is his first real experience with them.

Yard Feud

A fellow up the street spends an inordinate amount of time worrying about people walking on his grass. He has a corner lot and has long put up strings and fences and cones to keep people off. I've never seen anyone near his yard but he seems to think folks are out to hurt it. Now he is fighting with the mail carrier "Please keep off the grass." I wonder who added the (laminated) "why are you so mean?" Such drama.
 

Trading Places

Lowell decided she needed the high chair for lunch. Vala was fine with it.

 

A Clubhouse in a Clubhouse

The Excelsior Springs Golf Course features a clubhouse within a clubhouse in that the cabin originally used is now enclosed by a newer clubhouse. A little history: The cabin was built in 1825 by the Edwin Odell family. Edwin and his wife, Letice raised 10 children in it while growing tobacco and raising mules. Eventually the property was purchased by Major William A. Bell of Sussex, England who developed a mineral water system and the golf course.
 

CPR Update

I successfully kept my baby alive in my pediatric CPR and first aid class. With all the small children around me these days, I thought it was time to update my CPR training with a concentration on pediatrics. For COVID reasons, the plastic was required.

I love these photos where many people are just going about life. Mom seems to be talking to Taylor, who is wiggling away from his mom. Steve and Howard look engrossed in something. And Kathleen and Cal are just hanging out.

Vala is always a charmer, even with a double ear infection as she had yesterday.
