Concert and Vigil Supporting Immigrants

Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove led a concert in support of immigrant rights last night. It was the 80th anniversary of "This Land Is Your Land" so the children and adults were given instruments to join in. The concert was followed by a candlelight walk.

Protecting Ocean Environments

Andy Mann, ocean and adventure photographer, was the speaker last night in the new season of National Geographic Live. He did not disappoint. A proponent of protecting our oceans, he has amazing photos taken from under the surface.He is particularly interested in sharks.

Retired to the Rafters

Marcus Morris had his KU jersey No. 22 retired in the south rafters of Allen Fieldhouse last night during halftime of the KU-Iowa State game. He played at KU in 2009-11 and is now with the Los Angeles Clippers. His twin brother Markieff (front) stood with him on the court.

Keeping the Story Alive

Holocaust survivor Sonia Warshawski spoke with 8th graders at Indian Hills Middle School as part of their study of the Holocaust. They viewed her film "Big Sonia" and read "The Diary of Anne Frank" in preparation. The 94-year-old's message was not to forget but also not to hate because that is what brought the Holocaust about.
