The Arts in Prison East Hill Singers concert at Southminster Presbyterian Church yesterday had Joseph as accompanist and Colonial Church Music Director Kirk Carson conducting. Joseph's piece on the organ during the freewill offering was amazing.

The Names of the Roes

Signage along Indian Creek Trail was added last year to provide historical information about the area. This sign (with Roe Ave. in the background) appropriately gives the history of the Roe family. You can read the sign if you click here.

A Different Era

Our wedding in 1977 is distinctly different from last Saturday's event, from the wedding dress to blue tuxes to the bridesmaids. Only thing similar is the candelabra. Happy 41st anniversary to Howard and me.

Yesterday was Kansas City Fountains Day when all the fountains are turned on. This is the Kansas City Firefighters Memorial Fountain. Not all of the fountains were on, probably due to the cold.

... this is not what I imagine. Enough with winter already! Three April Sundays in a row with snow and unpleasant windchills.

Going Blue

Some folks are going green but this house likes blue. I choose to think they did it for the Royals as it has been this way for several years. The house is for sale so I thought I'd better photograph it in the event the new owners don't like the esthetic.

Waiting for Work

Stacy and Hayden are in the Kansas Senate chamber waiting for someone to need a page. As no one is in the seats behind them, I'm guessing the Senate was not in session but having committee meetings so probably fewer errands to run.

Just one more sign that winter is hanging on way too long. These folks were ready for warmer temperatures. I guess we know why Kansas City Fountain Day isn't until next week.

Hymn Sing Sunday

Under the direction of Dr. Joseph Kern, we had our second annual post-Easter hymn sing. We learn from Joseph about the scripture behind hymns. This year we ended with a reference to "Return of the King" of "Lord of the Rings." It's a new world.

Build-A-Corgi

Build-a-Bear has a new line called promise pets designed to look like actual pets. And since there was a Corgi, we had to build one for Hayden's baby.

This purple dream is on the curb waiting for a home. Just needs a few adjustments. Hayden would have loved it as a child.

As we prepare for weddings this spring, I thought it was fun to throwback to 1977 and the rehearsal for my wedding. No pics in the sanctuary from that night but here I am waiting with my bridesmaids, and Debbie.

So Far, So Good

These Lenten Roses seem to be withstanding the cold but they may be one of those that doesn't show damage until the air warms back up. Always nice to see them pop up for Easter.

I Am Not Amused

The April Fool's Day (or Easter) snow lingers. I am not enjoying it nor are my flowers.
