Hope the Easter bunny doesn't see this and pass by. Seriously, I don't think a rabbit is going to read this so not sure what the purpose is. Maybe an explanation for the fence but I think that's obvious.

Larger Than Life

Surprisingly, this little girl thought a giant human Easter bunny was an OK thing.

Free Ranger

These "Free Rangers" are bath bombs that create fun bubbles (below). Lush Cosmetics creates these clever bath bombs, which add essential oils and fizzy, fragrant fun to your bath. I gotta try one of these! Lots of other clever shapes too.

Dodge Town Reborn

The old Dodge Town in Antioch Park has been refurbished, rebuilt and expanded. When it is dedicated on April 7 it will be more of a sequel than a renovation of the 1961 creation because much was replaced but it looks like it will still be a grand place to play. There's still a jail but the livery has been replaced by a train station, and a cow.

Making a Statement

Country Club Plaza bunny Lee, who stands outside Pinstripes, has added his own touch for Easter. As you see below, the bunnies don't come with ties. Nicholas doesn't have one.

Master of Egg Dyeing

Dad did love to dye eggs. He especially loved to show the grandchildren how to add the shrink wrap and decals afterward. It was  – and is – an annual event on the Saturday before Easter.

Ready for the Freezer

Hayden and I made 8 gluten-free freezer meals in the Hy-Vee kitchen. We actually ended up with 16 meals each as the meals were intended for 4 people.

Clyde Reed Lives On

My friend and colleague from the Parsons Sun, Ann Gardner, received the Clyde M. Reed Jr. award for Master Editor from the Kansas Press Association. We both got a laugh out of it being a statue of Clyde, as our happiest memories were not of the tyrannical way he ran the newsroom. Not sure they captured his face but definitely his stance.

Hidden Gem

An often unnoticed part of Kansas City is the Linda Hall Library. It has been engulfed by UMKC but is not part of the university as it existed first. Linda and Herbert Hall (below) were childless and decided to create a library legacy with their wealth from grain. They didn't want to compete with the public libraries so after research, they created a science, engineering and technology collection. It is on the site of their home at 51st and Cherry. Linda requested that nothing be named after her but alas, she died first so her request was ignored.

Home Improvement Phase 2 Complete

The downstairs carpet is in and I have my house back. Still some items to return to the rooms but no more workmen in my house. Yeah!

The Wait Begins

I planted my elephant ear bulb to see if I can get growth before June. Usually I plant in May and see real growth about July 4. Changing it up this year.

Just put the toilet in a wagon (or yard cart) and tow it around. Howard's brother, Gordon, found this handy way to move it while doing a remodel.

Change Is Coming

Excited to be getting a new kitchen floor tomorrow. I didn't realize how worn the floor was until seeing the contrast after removing the island.

Trivia Challenged

We did not excel this year at the annual trivia night at Colonial. Joseph stepped up and provided several answers. Matt was at guard and unavailable to help. We did have fun.

Three Years Later

Mission Bowl, which burned in April 2015, sits abandoned on Martway. The owners decided not to reopen after the company that was to do the repairs declared bankruptcy. The bowling alley owners sued the company, claiming the company didn't protect undamaged parts from leaks that caused additional damage to the lanes and pin-setting equipment. The bowling alley would have celebrated 60 years this year.

Harbingers

Seeing these hardy blooms outdoors tells me it's time to think outdoor pots. These guys can take some cold.
