American League Championship Trophy

VisitKC, where Chris works, was hosting the trophy along with a photo op with KayCee the W guy for the Royals. I convinced Chris to get in the picture with me.

You Can Have Both

... a jack-o-lantern that also shows support for the Royals, at least that's what I take the crown to mean. (Maybe they like King Arthur.)

Still Blooming

These morning glories are not concerned with November looming. The glory of summer lives on.

We're Baaaack!

American League Champions. So much fun to be there for it, although there were some truly tense moments and a bit of dampness. Up next, the World Series. Look out Mets.

Wedded Bliss

Steve and Paula on their wedding day, 26 years ago today. (So many anniversaries are hitting a Throwback Thursday on the actual day!)

A Beacon of Red

An interesting fall in that there isn't universal color but where there is some, it's outstanding.

Pioneer Support

Showing their support with a blue bonnet for the woman, a crown for the man and blue water. Go Royals!

Worshipping in Unity

Colonial Church traveled to Bethel AME Church at 23rd and Flora in Kansas City, MO, yesterday to worship together. It was a fun service. Here our pastor is preaching. This project arose following the murders at the church in South Carolina. Interestingly, this was Buck O'Neil's church and below on the right side of the stained glass you can see a memorial to him with a photo of him and his wife.

In My Dress

We were discussing what Hayden wanted in a wedding dress and I said I needed to do something with mine because there isn't any point in continuing to store it. Stacy and Hayden humored me by trying it on. Interestingly, the lace has yellowed so it's very apparent now when it wasn't when I wore it. We were having great difficulty keeping the veil on and I recall that was a problem for me as well.

You Can Do It!

I made this banner for work as we are on the Kansas City Marathon route today. There was much discussion about what it should say.

Don't Forget to Look Up

Union Station is showing its support for the Royals but you have to look high.

Wearing the Crown

Residents along Ward Parkway are decorating their statuary. Thankfully, we survived the game yesterday to fight another day.

Happy 95!

Cindy, Scott, Susan and I visited my aunt Helen in celebration of her 95th birthday (which was Oct. 6). It was a great visit.

Boldly Proud

Might as well shout your loyalty. Looked to me like this was actually painted on the house.

A Night at the Ballpark

We started with beautiful weather and then the rains came. Fortunately only a 50 minute delay (and we were mostly dry in our seats). We didn't get the American League Division Series off to a good start. The Astros were the better team last night but it's not over yet.

It's Worked Before

Throwing back only one year, but wasn't it great? Hoping the magic will be back this year as we head into postseason play tonight.  Watch the Wild Card win here.

Neighborhood Art

The homeowner built the concrete pad awhile back and we've been waiting to see what it was for. Seems large LEGOs fits the bill.

No One Is Interested

I was given this butterfly bush free in July when I purchased some plants. It's spectacular now but the butterflies haven't been seen.

Pop-Up Celebrations

With the regular season over, Royals blue is popping up all over the city in anticipation of the postseason run. Go Royals!

Need a Ride?

Stagecoach rides were part of the festivities at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop in Olathe. Mahaffie is one of the few stagecoach stops left on the Santa Fe Trail. The facility was built in 1865.
