Kamikaze Highway

So many bugs were on the highway on our drive back from Parsons we finally had to stop and clean the windshield because we couldn't see.

Serenade

This preschool class came by my office yesterday morning to serenade me with "Do Re Mi" accompanied by a clarinet. The pictures were to cue them. Mostly they just stared at me.

What Is It Really?

I don't actually know but I was pleased to see that it was still in the park near our old house. When the girls were tiny, we used to walk here and they would play around, on and under it. I always objected when they wanted to crawl under because I could just imagine all the sand we would be taking home. It didn't stop them.

Whirly Gig

A very colorful, and apparently heavy, addition to this backyard. Notice the brace on the fence.

Wall of Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle seems particularly bountiful and fragrant this spring.

Fairyland Park Horse

This is one of the carousel horses from the old Fairyland Park. This one and a couple more are in a private home.

Fairy Villa 2

This cottage is considerably more rustic - apparently where the poor relations live.

Where the Fairies Dance

A couple Howard delivered furniture to had this very nice fairy house by the front door. I have fairy house envy.

In Disguise

Hope the firemen are not fooled by this hydrant's clever disguise.

Why Won't It Sell?

Maybe because you mulched the whole yard. Do we live in Phoenix?

Why?

The photo is not so great as it was taken with my phone, which is not of the iPhone variety. But I digress. I am trying to understand why you would trim a tree this way, other than general ineptness.

Happy Mother's Day

Missing my mother, my friend but grateful for the fabulous example she gave of how to be a mom and a friend to my daughters.
Enjoying very much being a mother to Stacy and Hayden.

Dashboard Prayer

The car next to us had this prayer taped to the dashboard:
We fly to your patronage, O Holy Mother of God. Listen to our petitions and our necessities. Deliver us always from all dangers, O ever glorious and blessed virgin. Our Lady of the Highways, pray for us.
Whatever it takes, I guess, to get you safely around. Might have been a classier way to attach it.

Sherrryyyy

Great show last night. A birthday gift from Stacy with dinner provided by Howard. (Hayden didn't go because she had seen it earlier this week.)

Fine Dining

Someone was kind enough to make muffins but then served it with a stick of butter stuck on the tray with a plastic knife impaled in it. Classy.

Thanks for the Flowers

Part of the flowers from the arrangement on the altar yesterday to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. Stacy and Hayden gave them in our honor. There were enough blooms (see below) to create two additional bouquets which we gave to the girls.

I Fixed It!

Apparently the this electric box or phone box or whatever it is was over heating during the Brookside Art Fair so someone thought using a fan to cool it down was a reasonable solution. Really? Especially with all the people walking nearby. Of course, there is the caution tape.

Watch Your Head

The tree on the right that leans over the sidewalk means everyone approaching the house must duck under it. I couldn't tell whether it was dead and just a prop for the vine or it still had some life left. I guess it's a unique landscape idea.

Not So Peaceful ...

... final resting place. Just along Mission Road. The name is Sharp but that's about all I could make out. The stone reads Moses Sharp but the dates are impossible to read, possibly died in 1888.
