Wildlife

You never know what might creep out of the bush. Unfortunately, upon closer look, it turned out to be plastic.

These azaleas are gorgeous.

What's Left Behind

Apparently this painting no longer had meaning for the former tenants. It was all that was left behind on the curb. The house is now for rent.

Do Your Part

When they put in the new curbs last fall, they sodded what they dug up. You can see what happens if you don't seed your part.

Home Organ

Our former bell choir director, Jim Neihart, showed Hayden and I the pipe organ he has in his music room at his home. Much more impressive than the usual electric home organ. Both he and his wife play the organ. Carlene used to be a church organist.

Colorful Meteor

Actually part of a rainbow but it reminds me of a colorful meteor crashing to earth. It's all in the perspective.

When It Rains, It Pours

Our visit to southeast Kansas yesterday revealed many rivers and creeks out of their banks. You can see the natural edge of the creek up by the trees.

Meet the Neighbors

Our neighbor was trimming trees and dropped a branch onto our power line. Not the ideal way to meet your neighbors. Thankfully our power did not go out.

Rock Chalk!

The Laffertys and I took a road trip to Omaha to see the Jayhawks win! Thank goodness the No. 2 seed jinx of the day was broken.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

My Dad as a leprechaun.

Hayden and I enjoyed hearing author Jodi Picoult speak at Unity Temple. She is signing Hayden's book. Vivien Jennings of Rainy Day Books is to the right.

Natural Heart

Is it just me, or does this look like a heart? I'm guessing the branch just broke naturally into this shape.

Is It Spring?

It sure looks like it.

Proportional

Doesn't it seem that this pedestal is a bit excessive for this smallish statue?

Musical Lunch

So is the lunch musical or is it a lunch being served at a musical? I think I should like the musical lunch.

Mission Complete

At last the windows are all in (and you shall not have to hear of them again). This is the living room with new windows and blinds.

Straw Bumpers

Waiting for placement during a storm sewer project, the straw bumpers will keep the dirt where dirt should be, not down the storm drain, while work progresses.

42nd Street Mural Project

The Rosedale 42nd Street Mural Project has added color to a drab area at 42nd and Mission Road in Kansas City, KS. The bottom part of the mural (below the rainbow) is by the new 8th grade class at Rosedale Middle School each year. It's a work in progress.

The area before painting began is pictured below.

Windows - Part 2

They started on the second half of our window replacement but the snow slowed them down. So, alas, we have one more day of it.

Green Beard

Apparently it's warm enough for moss to grow.
