Super Chief
My sister got a train for her 60th birthday, like the one my older brother would never let us play with as kids. So cool! Now she can play with it without anyone yelling at her for looking at it wrong or breathing or whatever.

Railroad Crossing
A view I have had frequently through the years as the train cuts through town. There are at least overpasses now when before this was about the only choice. Waiting, waiting, waiting.

Cat TV
Syd has discovered ESPN and loves to participate in the games by trying to catch the balls or whatever happens to be moving.

Ballerina Dog
Lela was dressed in her best sparkly tutu when she visited the office. I asked her if she was embarrassed by this outfit and she looked away. It's a reasonable question.

Maybe Not So Bright
This sign along the road doesn't seem to be attempting to build the brightest future, unless there is some play on words here I don't get.

Gathering Gifts
A party I love occurs in January after the holiday craziness and involves each person bringing a gift for themselves anonymously. As we open the gifts, the challenge is to figure out to whom each gift belongs. It's quite fun and incentive to get something for yourself.

Evacuation
A fire in a preschool wing computer caused a real fire alarm so we evacuated across the street to the chapel. This is how we move the crib room kids. Most of the preschool and mother's day out kids were just excited by the firetrucks with sirens and lights blazing.

Server Humor
Since our server at work has been down (mostly) since Jan. 2 grim humor has set in. This was anonymously posted last night.

Holiday Horse Gift
I saw this poster before Christmas but didn't get close enough to read it. Makes an interesting gift for the right person.

Ice Pothole
If the actual holes in the street aren't enough of a menace, a new element are potholes formed from the ice. They are just as jarring as the asphalt version but they will go away.

Hiding from the Vet
Stacy's cat, Bailey, did not like being at the vet so finally we put the towel over her and since she couldn't see anyone, she settled down. She and the vet got along OK, but she took her frustration out on others.

Frozen Pond
The ducks seem OK with the cold, some even swimming in the little bit of water not frozen. I wouldn't make it as a duck.

Surprise in the drift
As the snow melted, we found a street light pole obstructing the sidewalk. No one knew it had been knocked down. Well, someone did.

How High?
So the snow is piled as high as my side mirror. Have we peaked for this winter since the melting is expected to begin?

Buried Snowmen
The family snowmen are disappearing from sight. A bit more snow, and Cindy and Scott will be in the drifts.

Up to the Eyes
My garden gnome, who would have benefited from me cleaning up my garden this fall and stowing the statuary, is now warm in his blanket of snow.
